@badlegend1 you obviously don't know much about carp fishing.... safety mats are a must at probably all venues in the U.K.  Here in the U.S. people don't have much respect for carp.... maybe the fact that they just can't catch them... lol... i've been carp fishing here in the U.S. for quite a while... i've completely adopted the Euro-style and i don't plan on fishing for bass or catfish anytime soon... Once you hook a monster carp you won't look back...

@badlegend1 Just goes to show the level of your ignorance, the fish Cushion as you so aptly called it is for the safety of valuable stock. But then if you actually fished for carp you would know this rather than showing your self up on the internet.

taking a bit tooo long to return the fish and as rico5101 said never wipe them ! it was out of the water for 3 mins 4 seconds and bit silly to have carried it back to lake one flap and he would have been dropped on floor !

i've got the same unhooking mat as terry hearn!Hes got to be one of the best carp anglers around
